One Man’s Trash

An actual bottle cap, cigarette and Life Savers candy wrapper, painstakingly encrusted in tiny rhinestones. What happens when you take the time and the resources (I probably used $30-$40 worth of rhinestones) to elevate a piece of garbage to a piece of art? Is that, in fact, what I did? And finally, why should anyone care?

Do over: If I were to do this project again, I would have used smaller rhinestones on the bottle cap. I think the lovely bent and ruffly shape is lost with the larger gems.

Happy accident: The large amount of glue and rhinestones each piece used made them extremely sturdy and virtually indestructible. They would ship well.
